For three days, Yashobhoomi in New Delhi served as a showcase of India’s growing semiconductor capabilities. From chip design and advanced packaging to materials, equipment, artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, SEMICON India 2026 brought together different parts of the semiconductor ecosystem under one roof.

SEMICON India 2026 concluded today at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, with a series of 15 announcements and collaborations during its concluding session. The initiatives are aimed at strengthening India’s capabilities in semiconductor design, indigenous computing, fabrication management, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, start-up engagement and workforce development. They brought together Government institutions, industry, academia and skilling organisations to translate India’s semiconductor ambitions into deployable technologies, stronger domestic infrastructure and industry-ready talent.

SEMICON India 2026, the fifth edition of India’s flagship semiconductor conference, concluded successfully today at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, marking another step in the development of India’s semiconductor ecosystem. Held from 17–19 September 2026 under the theme “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem,” the event featured over 600 exhibitors, including around 300 international participants, representatives from 52 countries, and over 150 speakers. Six Country Pavilions representing Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Singapore and Sweden, along with 12 State Pavilions, a Startup Pavilion, Workforce Development Zone, Innovation Showcase & Student Hackathon, showcased different dimensions of the semiconductor value chain. The event recorded 51,656 total registrations and cumulative footfall of about 40,000.

Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw and Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the Odisha Pavilion at SEMICON India 2026 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, on the second day of the event.

Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, today said at SEMICON India 2026 that India’s semiconductor mission has moved from establishing the foundation to building the industry at scale. The next phase under India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) 2.0 will focus on developing a complete semiconductor ecosystem. Speaking at a fireside chat during SEMICON India 2026, Shri Vaishnaw said that ISM 1.0 focused on creating the foundational ecosystem, while ISM 2.0 will take the semiconductor industry forward across six key pillars – Design; Materials and Machines; More Fabs; More ATMP units; R&D; and Talent.

Day 2 of SEMICON India 2026 witnessed 25 key announcements and collaborations covering various segments of the semiconductor value chain, including semiconductor manufacturing, materials, logistics, chip design, advanced packaging, power electronics and workforce development. The event has received an encouraging response, with nearly 12,000 visitors on the first day, most of whom were industry participants, and features more than 600 exhibitors, including around 300 international exhibitors.

The second day of SEMICON India 2026 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, brought together policymakers, global semiconductor leaders, Indian industry, researchers, startups, academia and students for deliberations spanning manufacturing, supply chains, Research and Development (R&D), international partnerships, chip design, advanced packaging, materials and talent, reflecting India’s progress towards an integrated and globally competitive “Silicon to Systems” ecosystem.

The Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD), under the Digital India Corporation (DIC), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, in collaboration with Current AI and Kalpa Impact, hosted the finale of the VYOMA Innovation Challenge at IIIT-Delhi, bringing together researchers, students and startups developing practical applications of open-source AI hardware for diverse Indian contexts.

Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, today outlined the implementation approach and emerging investment momentum under Semicon 2.0, highlighting the Government’s focus on developing the complete semiconductor ecosystem in India.

Lattice 2026, the annual business conclave of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta), was held in Kolkata today under the theme ‘The Capability Decade’. The conclave brought together students, industry leaders and professionals for discussions on artificial intelligence, technology, innovation, leadership and the capabilities required to create impact in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.

The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), organized a focused awareness workshop on the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023, for officers of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) at the India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi.
