The Green Hydrogen Certification of India (GHCI) Digital Portal is a unified online platform developed by the National e-Governance Division (एन.ई.जी.डी.) for the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The portal enables green hydrogen producers across India to apply for, track, and receive certification that verifies their hydrogen production meets the emission intensity threshold of 2 kg CO₂e/kg H₂ — establishing it as genuinely ‘green’.

The platform digitises the entire certification lifecycle — from producer registration and facility verification through provisional and final certification — with built-in workflows for Accredited Carbon Verifiers (ACVs) and a Technical Committee (TC). Key features include automated PCF (Product Carbon Footprint) validation, QR-code-enabled certificate verification, integrated fee processing, and a public verification portal.  By providing a transparent, auditable, and standards-compliant certification framework, GHCI strengthens investor confidence, enables carbon credit eligibility under India’s Carbon Credit Trading Scheme, and positions India as a credible participant in the global green hydrogen economy.
