The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MYAS) and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) currently operate within a highly fragmented digital landscape comprising over 30 independent portals and applications, including platforms such as NSRS, Khelo India, ACTC, TOPS, NSF, RCMS, GMS, etc. While each system addresses specific functional requirements, the absence of a unified digital framework has led to duplicated processes, siloed athlete and federation data, manual and repetitive workflows, and an inconsistent user experience for stakeholders across the sports ecosystem.

To overcome these challenges, the proposed solution envisions the creation of a Unified Digital Sports Ecosystem built on a microservices-based, federated architecture. This approach will enable modular integration, scalability, and interoperability while allowing existing systems to be gradually rationalised and consolidated.

The unified platform will be structured around nine core digital pillars, anchored by a single lifelong Sports ID for every athlete, coach, sports scientist and other official. The Athlete and Sports Persons Management pillar maintains this foundational identity registry; the Athlete Development Ecosystem pillar manages training centres, schools, coach accreditation, and sports science; the Competition Management pillar runs the National Sports Calendar, nominations, and live results; the Sports Governance and Regulatory Functions pillar covers compliance, anti-doping, and grievance redressal; the Sports Governance Execution Engine pillar handles finance, HR, procurement, and entitlement disbursement; the Sports Infrastructure pillar enables geo-tagged facility mapping, bookings, and IoT-based monitoring; the Federation Services pillar supports NSF administration and grant management; the Outreach, Partnerships and CSR pillar drives community engagement and funding partnerships; and the Digital Public Presence pillar delivers citizen-facing portals and information services. Together, these pillars will deliver a seamless, data-driven, and user-centric sports ecosystem.
