MahaVISTAAR is Maharashtra's AI-powered agricultural advisory platform, giving farmers personalised crop advisory, weather forecasts, market prices, pest/disease identification, and scheme access through an app, an AI chatbot, and Vasudha — its Voice AI assistant on toll-free 155313. It uses a "My Farm Diary" tied to the farmer's AgriStack Farmer ID so advisory is based on the farmer's actual land and crops rather than generic content.
Project Details
Brief Background
Farmers previously relied on fragmented, generic advisory channels with no personalisation and limited reach. MahaVISTAAR was built to unify weather, market, crop, pest, and scheme information into one AI-driven platform, first launched May 2025 (Kharif season) as generic advisory, then upgraded to MahaVISTAAR 2.0 in Kharif 2026 with personalised, AgriStack-linked advisory.
Objective
To deliver timely, personalised, and multilingual agricultural advisory directly to farmers — improving productivity, reducing crop loss from pests/disease, and improving access to schemes and market information — while shifting from a reactive "pull" model to a proactive "push" advisory model.
Benefits
Farmers get personalised advisory tied to their own land/crop data, real-time weather and market prices, photo-based pest/disease identification, direct DBT scheme access, and support in their own language via chatbot or voice call. The State gets a scalable, low-cost extension channel reaching lakhs of farmers without proportional field-staff increase.
