Through direct financial support, the scheme aims to enhance women's economic security and promote better nutrition, health outcomes, and quality of life.

Objective

The objective of Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana (MMLBY) is to improve the nutritional and overall health status of women in Maharashtra while promoting their economic empowerment and financial independence. The scheme aims to provide financial support to eligible women, enabling them to better meet their nutritional, health, and other essential needs and contribute to improved overall well-being.

Benefits

Implementation Methodology

The implementation of MMLBY involved a large-scale, time-bound application and verification process.

- Approximately 2.63 crore applications were received within a record period of 3.5 months.

- The applications were scrutinised by dedicated teams from the District Collector’s offices and Municipal Corporations.

- In parallel, a centralised scrutiny mechanism was adopted to strengthen the verification process and identify duplicate applications using multiple datasets and data-matching techniques.

- Following scrutiny and eligibility verification, eligible beneficiaries were processed for Aadhaar-based Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

- A dry run/trial process was conducted prior to the actual DBT to validate beneficiary and payment details and ensure smooth transfer of benefits.
