MAITRI (Maharashtra Industry, Trade and Investment Facilitation Cell) is the State's single-window platform for the approvals and clearances an investor needs to establish and operate a business. It offers a common application interface, routes requests to the relevant departments, supports online payment, and tracks each application end to end through to approval. A facilitation layer helps investors navigate requirements and resolve queries as they progress.
Project Details
Brief Background
Investors earlier pursued approvals separately across many departments, often through manual, in-person processes with little visibility into where an application stood. MAITRI began as a facilitation cell to coordinate this; current version turns it into a full digital platform that integrates those departmental services into a single online journey, from application to clearance.
Objective
To let investors obtain the pre-establishment and pre-operation approvals required to set up and run a business in Maharashtra through one window, improving the State's ease of doing business. The platform aims to cut processing time, make requirements and status transparent, and present the State as a predictable, investor-friendly destination.
Benefits
Investors submit their details once, track every clearance in real time and benefit from time-bound processing with escalation where timelines are exceeded. Departments coordinate through standardised, routed workflows rather than parallel manual channels, and can see exactly where each application rests. Collectively this shortens timelines, reduces uncertainty and strengthens the State's investment climate.
Implementation Methodology
Departmental clearances are integrated as configurable workflows with inter-departmental routing, online payment and status tracking, each carrying a defined service timeline. Services are onboarded department by department, with time-bound processing and escalation mechanisms built in so that delays are surfaced and acted upon rather than left unseen.
