Mizoram Startup Mission (MSUM) is a Government Society established under Planning & Programme Implementation Department as a state-level umbrella agency to take up implementation of Entrepreneurship & Startup Development and coordinate all initiatives for facilitating and handholding Startups among multiple departments.To this end, MSUM provides a comprehensive strategy to spread awareness on startups and entrepreneurship, educate the youth on various opportunities beyond the Public Sector, impart skills necessary to prepare them to start and run their own ventures successfully, provide handholding and microfinance for startups and facilitate networking and mentoring.

Project Details

Brief Background

Mizoram Startup Mission (MSUM) operates as the state’s central entrepreneurship development agency under the Planning & Programme Implementation Department. It was established to unify and streamline all startup-related initiatives across departments, ensuring a single-window ecosystem for awareness, capacity building, incubation, and financial support. MSUM focuses on enabling youth to explore opportunities beyond government employment by fostering a culture of innovation, risk-taking, and sustainable enterprise creation.

Objective

- To catalyze a robust startup ecosystem in Mizoram through structured awareness, training, incubation, and funding programs.
- To equip young entrepreneurs with the skills, resources, and mentorship required to launch and sustain viable ventures.
- To coordinate inter-departmental efforts and create an integrated support system for startups.
 
To facilitate microfinance access and build strong networks between entrepreneurs, mentors, industry experts, and financial institutions.
