Brief Background
Established in 1821 as ?Imprensa Nacional? during Portuguese rule the Government Printing Press is one of Goa s oldest institutions. Post-liberation it evolved into a full-fledged government department responsible for printing official documents and supplying stationery to various government departments. The Press has undergone modernization transitioning from traditional printing methods to offset printing and computer systems to meet increasing demands.
Objective
The primary objectives of the Department are: Timely completion of printing jobs for all government departments. Ensuring each section within the department meets the printing requirements of various government entities. Continuous modernization through the acquisition of the latest printing machines to enhance efficiency.
