Brief Background
The e-Assembly project was conceived to modernize the functioning of the Goa Legislative Assembly by transitioning from traditional paper-based methods to a digital platform. This initiative was realized through the collaborative efforts of the Directorate of Information Technology and the Legislature wing who worked diligently over a year and a half to implement the system. The move towards a paperless assembly was officially announced in July 2014 marking a significant shift in the legislative process .
Objective
Digitization of Legislative Processes: To convert all legislative documents including questions answers bills and reports into digital formats.The Indian Express Enhanced Accessibility: To provide Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) with secure access to legislative materials through personalized logins enabling them to retrieve information during sessions seamlessly.
Public Transparency: To make legislative proceedings more transparent by uploading session materials to the public domain post the Question Hour .
The Economic Times Environmental Sustainability: To significantly reduce paper consumption thereby promoting eco-friendly practices within the legislative framewor
