Brief Background
Established as part of the national initiative to strengthen teacher education DIET Porvorim has been instrumental in implementing various educational reforms in Goa. In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 the institute has been earmarked for development into a Centre of Excellence with a sanctioned central fund of ?15 crore. This development includes the construction of a new three-storey building equipped with smart classrooms laboratories and a digitized library. Additionally a primary school will be attached to the institute to facilitate practical training and research .
Objective
Teacher Training: Provide comprehensive pre-service and in-service training programs to enhance the professional competencies of teachers. The Times of India +1 Goa Education +1.Curriculum Development: Design and update curricula to meet contemporary educational needs and standards.
Educational Research: Conduct research studies to identify effective teaching methodologies and address local educational challenges.
The Times of India Resource Support: Serve as a resource center for schools and educators offering guidance and support in implementing educational programs.
