All the inhabited sectors in UT Chandigarh are covered by school education as per habitation norms. Chandigarh has a good network of 111 Govt. schools. 7 Govt.-Aided schools, 84 recognized private schools, 7 Central Govt. schools run by Kendriya Vidyalaya /Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti/ Air Force. Barring a few, all schools are of composite nature covering grades I to X/XII.

Chandigarh has a network of 111 government schools 7 aided schools and 84 recognized private schools ensuring comprehensive coverage of school education.

Objective

To provide quality education and implement educational schemes effectively. Data of Child mapping as collected and compiled by the Head of Schools is hereby put on the website for public. See Rule 10 (4) of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education, Rules 2010.

Benefits

Access to free textbooks uniforms and mid-day meals under various schemes. If there is any error in the data the same may be intimated to the Head of nearby Govt. School with a copy to the District Education Officer for further necessary action.
