Brief Background
The U.T. Administration is committed to the Industrial Development with the role of facilitator and catalyst to make U.T. of Daman & Diu, the most preferred investment destination. The online single window “investdd.gov.in” will be an instrument through which the fast, reliable, efficient and time bound and citizen friendly services/clearances/NOCs will be provided and Daman & Diu would be the preferred Destination of Investment in Manufacturing and Services Industries. The Administration of U.T. of Daman & Diu is committed to achieve vision of "Prosperous U.T. of Daman & Diu".
Objective
Daman District is situated on the western coast of India and surrounded by Valsad District of Gujarat State in North, East and South. Daman Ganga River flowing from Nasik passes through middle of Daman District bisecting it into two parts namely, Moti Daman and Nani Daman. The District of Daman is situated on the western coast of India. Its length from the extreme north to south measures 11 kms and width from east to west measures 8 Kms. The altitude is 12 meters above the sea level.
Benefits
There are 39 industrial estates in Daman District having 3443 Industrial Units; out of which 3070 are in the Micro & Small Scale Sector. Out of 39 industrial estates, three Industrial estates are developed by OIDC and the rest are developed by private developers. In the District, major Industries are Plastic, Pharmaceuticals and Texturizing Units.
Implementation Methodology
There is 1 industrial estate in Diu District having 38 Industrial Units; out of which 38 are in the Micro & Small Scale Sector. In the district, major Industries are Soda Water, Rubber Plastic, Petrol based and Ice Block making.
