As part of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, the session “AI Meets Agriculture: Building Food Security and Climate Resilience” convened policymakers, development institutions, researchers and digital innovators to explore how Artificial Intelligence can transform agricultural systems, strengthen food security, and enhance climate resilience at scale. The session featured a keynote address by Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis, followed by a high-level panel discussion with representatives from the Government of India, the World Bank Group, research foundations and innovation ecosystem.

The session “AI and Open Networks: Creating Impact at Scale” at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 set out a clear proposition: the future of AI will be determined not only by model breakthroughs, but by the digital public infrastructure and open network architectures that allow innovation to reach millions of people. Drawing on examples from healthcare, agriculture, science, and public service delivery, speakers demonstrated how India’s approach, combining consent-based data systems, interoperable platforms and open participation, has created the foundation for AI deployment at a population scale.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched landmark initiatives in India’s digital security framework. It has deployed next-generation AI enabled biometric deduplication and document verification platform. This platform will improve the deduplication accuracy of the Enrolment or Update transaction being undertaken by UIDAI.

On the fifth day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, India formally joined the Pax Silica coalition, marking a significant milestone in the strengthening of strategic technology and supply chain cooperation between India and the United States. The signing ceremony brought together senior government leaders from both nations, underscoring a shared commitment to securing the full technology stack that will power the AI-driven global economy.

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd., a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Railways, successfully curated and hosted two important panel discussions on Artificial Intelligence–driven healthcare at the AI Impact Summit 2026, held at Bharat Mandapam. The Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, today chaired a strategic convening of industry leaders and global academicians, policymakers and technology experts to articulate India’s AI priorities especially for the Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET) ecosystem with a strong focus on adoption, skills development and inclusive growth.

India’s semiconductor chip design ecosystem is steadily strengthening, with startups supported under the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme drawing growing interest from both investors and the user community. Semiconductor ventures traditionally involve long development timelines, substantial R&D investment and higher technical risk before revenues begin, often making early-stage investors cautious — and consequently, prior to 2021, venture capital investment in this sector in India remained limited.

The digital trade chapter of the India–EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) establishes a facilitative framework to ensure a secure and trustworthy digital environment for electronic transactions, aimed at strengthening the growth of goods and services trade between India and the EU. It promotes paperless trade, e-invoicing, e-contracts, e-authentication etc., to ease cross-border trade. The chapter also contains provisions to enhance consumer confidence and business trust.

India’s AI strategy is based on the Prime Minister’s vision to democratize the use of technology. It aims to address India centric challenges, create economic and employment opportunities for all Indians.

The policies of the Government are aimed at ensuring an open, safe and trusted and accountable internet for its users, including women and children. The Government is committed to ensure that the internet in India is free from any form of unlawful content or information, particularly which may lead to violence against women and exploitation of minors.
