Passport Verification Record Now Available on DigiLocker for Citizens’ Ease and Security

The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), has announced a major enhancement to citizen services through the enablement of the Passport Verification Record (PVR) on the DigiLocker platform. DigiLocker is a secure, cloud-based platform under the Digital India programme that enables issuance, storage, sharing, and verification of digital documents and certificates.

The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 have been notified on 13 November 2025, They provide a timelines for implementation of relevant provisions. In terms of the provision of the Rules, Digital Data Protection Board has been notified.

UIDAI records 231 crore Aadhaar authentication transactions in November, 8.47% growth over Nov 2024

Aadhaar number holders executed 231Cr authentication transactions in November 2025, clocking a growth of almost 8.5% as against the same period last year. It is indicative of the growing usage of Aadhaar, as well as the growth of digital economy in the country. The November 2025 authentication transactions are highest so far when compared with any of the previous months this fiscal year. In October, the numbers were 219.51 Cr. The growing usage shows, how Aadhaar has been playing the role of a facilitator for effective welfare delivery, and voluntarily availing services offered by service providers.

Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), C-DAC, Indian Toy Industries and LEGO Group celebrated the Convocation Ceremony of the 2nd batch of engineering graduates who have spent a year training under the project ‘Development of Electronics and IT-based Control and Automation Solutions for Consumer Electronic Goods (Toy Industry)’. The project is a tailor-made initiative of R&D group of the Ministry to foster the growth of the Indian electronic toys industry by developing prototypes and equipping young engineers, including from under-represented communities, with the skills needed to design such toys.

Union Minister for Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, handed over 28 chips fabricated at Semiconductor Laboratory (SCL) Mohali (including 600 bare dies & 600 packaged chips) by students from 17 academic institutions under the Chips to Start-up (C2S) Programme. The chip handover ceremony was organized during his visit to the Semiconductor Laboratory (SCL), Mohali, on 28th November 2025 to review the progress of work and ongoing modernisation activities.

NeGD Organizes ‘Big Data and Data Analytics’ Programme

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) under its Digital India Vision plans and implements its capacity building initiatives in Digital Governance. As part of the same, a 2-day training programme on ‘Big Data and Data Analytics’ has been organized at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur from November 26 – 27, 2025 by National e- Governance Division (NeGD), MeitY for the officials of Central and State Governments across the country. A total of 26 officers from various Central Line Ministries and States/UTs, including Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, New Delhi, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal participated in the programme.

The workshop brings together key government departments and officials working in the technology divisions to review progress, set future expectations, and strengthen Kerala’s journey towards a fully digital and seamless governance ecosystem. The event commenced with an insightful keynote address by Shri Seeram Sambasiva Rao, IAS, Special Secretary, E&ITD, Government of Kerala.
