Digital India Milestone: CSC’s ₹3,000 Crore Loan Outreach Transforms Lives of 70,000 Underserved Borrowers
The programme has shown rapid growth, with disbursals of ₹86 crore in FY 2023-24, ₹1,631 crore in FY 2024-25, and ₹1,300 crore till August 2025 in FY 2025-26. So far, nearly 70,000 people have benefitted, many of them first-time borrowers, seekers of small-ticket loans, and individuals from unbanked segments. UIDAI records 221 crore Aadhaar authentication transactions in August 2025, 10% increase over August 2024
Aadhaar number holders executed over 221 crore authentication transactions in August 2025, more than the previous month this year as well as the corresponding month in the previous fiscal. The August 2025 authentication transactions are over 10.3% more than such transactions recorded in August 2024. This is indicative of the growing usage and utility of Aadhaar, as well as the growth of digital economy in the country.

Semicon India 2025 Showcases Indian Startups Accelerating the Roadmap for Aatmanirbhar Chips under the DLI Scheme
Backed by the Government of India’s Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme, domestic chip design and IPR is accelerating across critical sectors, from surveillance and energy metering to networking and motor control. To date, 23 chip design projects have been sanctioned under the DLI Scheme, with 72 companies gaining access to industry-grade Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools. Many of these startups showcased their roadmaps at Semicon India 2025, reflecting India’s growing capability and self-reliance in semiconductor chip design.

Digital India Milestone: NeGD Achieves Pan-India Integration of Nearly 2,000 e-Government Services on DigiLocker and e-District Platforms
The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has achieved another significant milestone by enabling Pan-India integration of e-Government services on DigiLocker and e-District platforms. With this achievement, citizens across all 36 States and Union Territories can now seamlessly access close to 2,000 digital services anytime, anywhere. The integrated services cover a wide spectrum of citizen needs including certificates, welfare schemes, utility payments and other essential facilities, thereby ensuring convenience, efficiency and transparency in delivery. This development marks a major leap in realizing the vision of the Digital India programme, fostering paperless and mobile governance and contributing directly to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw today inaugurated India’s first Tempered Glass Manufacturing Facility for Mobile Devices at Noida. The facility has been set up by Optiemus Electronics in collaboration with Corning Incorporated, USA, and will produce high-quality tempered glass under the globally recognised brand “Engineered by Corning”. The products will be supplied to both domestic and international markets.
