The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and Google have joined hands to enable the display of authorised Aadhaar centres on Google Maps, a move that will enhance ease of access and convenience for residents across the country.

The Blockchain India Challenge was launched by Shri S. Krishnan IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) on 23^rd February (Monday), 2026 at MeitY, New Delhi in the presence of Shri Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, MeitY, Shri Sudeep Srivastava, Joint Secretary, MeitY, Smt. Sunita Verma, Group Coordinator, MeitY, Shri Manoj Kumar Jain, Group Coordinator, MeitY, Smt. P R Lakshmi Eswari, Scientist G & Centre Head, C-DAC Hyderabad and other officials of MeitY & C-DAC. Various Government departments and startups were also present during the event.

National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), an Autonomous Scientific Society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, organized NIELIT Delhi’s Job Fair – “Yuva Rojgar Mela” on 21st of February, 2026. The job fair was held at NIELIT Delhi’s office at Pankha Road, Janakpuri, New Delhi for facilitating placement opportunities for NIELIT’s alumni and students. 15 companies shortlisted candidates against 1000+ job openings in their respective companies. More than 750 candidates registered for the Job Fair.

Voice technologies are becoming foundational to digital inclusion in India, shaping how millions access public services, information, and the digital economy. Against this backdrop, a new Policy Report and Developers’ Toolkit on voice technologies was launched at the India AI Summit Expo 2026 on February 20, 2026 to set out a policy and practice framework supporting open, inclusive, and responsible voice technologies.

Demonstrating India’s commitment to building inclusive and locally relevant AI systems, a session titled “Making AI for Everyone: The Case for Personal, Local, Multilingual AI” was organised at Bharat Mandapam on 20th February.

At the India AI Impact Summit, the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh on 20^th February, 2026 to establish India’s first dedicated Quantum and Artificial Intelligence University campus in Amaravati.

Three keynote addresses at the AI Summit brought together leaders from fintech, research, and global technology to outline how artificial intelligence is moving beyond experimentation into real-world transformation, across finance, enterprise, and human capability.

At the India AI Impact Summit, a high-level panel featuring Salil Parekh, Chief Executive Officer of Infosys; K. Krithivasan, Chief Executive Officer of Tata Consultancy Services; C Vijayakumar, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director of HCL Technologies; and Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairperson & CEO of Salesforce India, examined whether AI agents are fundamentally disrupting the traditional SaaS model. The discussion was moderated by Amitabh Kant.

The session “Semiconductor Workforce in the Age of AI” at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 positioned talent development as the decisive link between India’s artificial intelligence ambitions and its semiconductor manufacturing roadmap. Bringing together leaders from government, industry and academia, the discussion underscored that the next phase of India’s semiconductor journey will depend not on incremental skilling initiatives, but on building a deep, end-to-end understanding of the fab ecosystem, spanning device physics, process integration and advanced manufacturing systems.

The session “AI and the New Frontier for Economic Progress: Linking Innovation to Inclusive Growth” at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 brought together leading economists, development practitioners and global policy thinkers to examine a defining question for the next decade: whether artificial intelligence will widen economic divides or become a catalyst for broad-based prosperity. The discussion contemplated the structural conditions required for AI-led growth: productivity gains, public-sector transformation, open innovation ecosystems and labour-market readiness.
