The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) organized a hybrid awareness session on the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 on 20th July 2026 in Electronics Niketan. The session was delivered by Ms. Indraveni K., C-DAC Hyderabad, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from government officials, technical professionals, and other stakeholders. More than 200 participants attended the programme through a combination of online and offline modes, reflecting the increasing interest in understanding and implementing the provisions of the DPDP Act. The session provided participants with a comprehensive overview of the key principles of the DPDP Act, including the obligations of Data Fiduciaries, the rights of Data Principals, lawful processing of personal data, consent management, and the importance of adopting privacy-by-design practices. Practical implementation strategies, data governance measures, and orgaorganizational responsibilities were discussed with relevant examporganizationsarticipants understand how the Act can be effectively operationalizedhin government departments. The interactive session encouraged active engagement through organizations and questions, enabling participants to gain clarity on implementation challenges and best practices. The programme is part of NeGD’s ongoing capacity-building initiative to promote awareness of the DPDP Act and support government organizations in developing secure, privacy-centric, and citizen-focused digital services.
