Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, today announced that India has successfully achieved the Guinness World Records title for the “Most pledges received for an AI responsibility campaign in 24 hours,” with a staggering 250,946 valid pledges received during the 24-hour period from February 16–17.

The session “Building Sovereign Deep Tech for a Resilient Future” at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 highlighted the expanding strategic partnership between Finland and India across advanced technology domains, including artificial intelligence, space, quantum computing and next-generation digital networks. The discussion underscored how Finland’s strengths in research, engineering, and high-performance computing, combined with India’s scale, talent, and application ecosystem, provide a strong foundation for co-innovation and global deployment of deep-tech solutions.

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 today witnessed the announcement of winners of the YUVAi Global Youth Challenge, marking the culmination of a landmark global initiative under the IndiaAI Mission to nurture responsible, youth-led artificial intelligence innovation. The Challenge received over 2,500 applications from 38 countries, reflecting strong global momentum among young innovators committed to developing AI solutions aligned with societal and developmental priorities.

The second day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 highlighted the AI for ALL: Global Impact Challenge, a flagship initiative of the IndiaAI Mission designed to identify and accelerate artificial intelligence solutions with the potential for large-scale impact across sectors critical to societal development. The Challenge, part of the Summit’s comprehensive agenda, underscores the Government of India’s commitment to harnessing AI for inclusive, sustainable and people-centric outcomes, reinforcing the core principles of People, Planet and Progress.

The second day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 concluded with an Awards Ceremony recognising outstanding artificial intelligence innovations across multiple national and global challenges, followed by a cultural programme celebrating India’s rich artistic and cultural heritage. The Awards Ceremony recognised winners across three flagship initiatives — AI by HER, AI for ALL, and YuvaAI, highlighting the Summit’s focus on inclusive innovation, large-scale societal impact, and youth-led participation in India’s AI ecosystem.

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 marked the launch of the AI Impact Casebooks – Health & Education, developed under the leadership of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and the IndiaAI Mission, with support from partners including the World Health Organisation and Central Square Foundation.

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 exhibition has brought together leading technology companies, academic institutions, start-ups, industry bodies and global partners to showcase cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions across sectors. The 10 thematic Pavilions comprising 300+ exhibitors from India and 30+ countries highlight how AI is driving scientific advancement, industrial resilience, innovation, and the democratisation of digital resources.

A high-level thematic session titled “Advancing AI Readiness and Adoption in Manufacturing MSMEs” was held today on the second day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi. The session brought together key Ministries of the Government of India, including the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Ministry of Textiles, and the Department of Pharmaceuticals (Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers), along with policymakers, industry representatives, and academia.

The session on “Global Dialogue on AI Usage – Data for Labour Market Resilience” on the second day of India AI Impact Summit 2026 focused on the changing nature of work and job scenarios in the context of accelerating artificial intelligence adoption and the policy choices required to manage this transition. Drawing on emerging international evidence, the discussion noted differentiated impacts across age groups, sectors, and geographies, with early trends indicating employment pressures for younger workers in roles with higher AI exposure.

Lauding India’s first government owned, sovereign “Large Language Model”, Multilingual AI stack, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology; Earth Sciences; and Minister of State for PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh today said that Artificial Intelligence is no longer an option but an essential component of working in every sphere of life, as he addressed the session on “BharatGen Models: Vision and Technical Execution 2026” at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

The session “From Insights to Action for Resilient, High-Performance Data Centres”, held today on the second day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 and organised in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy (US DOE) and the National Lab of the Rockies, earlier known as the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), discussed the growing pressure that AI-driven data centre expansion is placing on energy systems and infrastructure planning.

As part of the second day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, the session “AI in Governance: Revolutionising Government Efficiency” brought together global researchers and senior policymakers to examine how artificial intelligence can strengthen public service delivery at scale. The discussion focused on moving beyond pilots and promise toward measurable impact, emphasizing rigorous evaluation, responsible deployment and systems-level readiness across government.
