India’s innovation ecosystem exhibits strong academic research output in AI and related deep technologies. In the Stanford Global AI Vibrancy 2025 report, India was ranked 3^rd in the world for AI competitiveness and ecosystem vibrancy. India is also the second-largest contributor to GitHub AI projects, showcasing its vibrant developer community.

India’s preparations for the India AI Impact Summit 2026 have gathered nationwide momentum through seven Regional AI Conferences held across Meghalaya, Gujarat, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Kerala.

The key milestone closely aligns with IndiaAI Mission objectives and represents a major step forward in India’s journey towards self-reliant and scalable AI capabilities. With this development, BHASHINI now operates entirely on Indian cloud and GPU infrastructure, ensuring that language datasets, models, and citizen interactions remain within India’s jurisdiction.

Shri Jitin Prasada, Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce and lndustry and Electronics and Information Technology, today inaugurated the STQC Lab Automation Portal – SATYA, a major digital initiative under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, in the presence of Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY, senior officials of the Ministry, STQC, and C-DAC.

The Research Symposium on AI & Its Impact, held as part of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 on 18th February 2026 the third day of the summit, convened leading researchers, policymakers, technologists and industry leaders to explore the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence across Science, Governance, Industry and Society. Designed as a platform to bridge the gap between frontier research with real-world application, the Symposium examined how AI can drive scientific breakthroughs while remaining aligned with public interest, safety and inclusive growth.

The 3rd day of The India AI Impact Summit 2026 opened its Inaugural Session with conversations around the key deliverables from the Summit’s Working Groups, setting the stage for collaborative action on global AI priorities.Guided by the principles of People, Planet, and Progress, the Summit has structured its agenda around seven thematic working groups (Chakras). These groups have spent several months deliberating on focused AI outcomes, aiming to drive collaborative action on global AI priorities.

On the third day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026,  Expo spread across 10 Pavilions remains  a major attraction, drawing strong participation from industry leaders, start-ups, academic institutions, government representatives and citizens. A large number of youth and students were seen at the  exhibition arena in spite of the inclement weather to witness live demonstrations of cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and technologies.

The Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD), under the Digital India Corporation (DIC), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), marked a major milestone in India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) journey with the launch of VoicERA, an open source, end to end Voice AI stack, at the India AI Impact Summit 2026. The launch was led by Shri Amitabh Nag, CEO, Digital India BHASHINI Division with EkStep Foundation, in collaboration with COSS, IIIT Bengaluru, and AI4Bharat.

On the third day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, the session on “Governing Safe and Responsible AI within Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI)” brought together global leaders and experts to examine how artificial intelligence can be embedded in public systems in ways that are safe, accountable and inclusive.

On the third day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 today on 18th February 2026, the session on “AI and Education: From Innovation to Impact”, hosted in collaboration with the Estonian Embassy, New Delhi at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, explored how countries can move beyond pilots to system-wide adoption of artificial intelligence in public education. The discussion highlighted that AI is already present in classrooms and that the central challenge is its responsible, equitable, and learning-focused deployment at scale.

The third day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 witnessed the launch of the AI Impact Startup Book, a comprehensive study that captures the scale, diversity, and growing global footprint of India’s artificial intelligence and deep-tech startup ecosystem. The publication presents insights from a large sample of startups and highlights emerging trends across sectors, technologies, and geographies.

Semiconductor chip design is a critical value driver across the semiconductor value chain, defining system architecture, performance, functionality and security, while contributing up to half of the overall value addition and accounting for 15–35% of the bill of materials (BOM) cost of electronic products.
