The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has issued a circular titled “Harnessing DigiLocker as a Digital Public Infrastructure for Reducing Unclaimed Assets in the Indian Securities Market” to address the issue of unclaimed financial assets.

“India remains steadfast in its zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and believes in an approach that combines robust domestic mechanisms, enhanced intelligence-sharing, and strong regional cooperation,” said Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh during the keynote address at the 14th meeting of ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) – Plus Experts Working Group (EWG) on Counter-Terrorism in New Delhi on March 19, 2025.

An MoU was signed between Lok Sabha Secretariat and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) for the development of Sansad AI solution in the presence of Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla and Union Minister for MEITY, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw.

In a groundbreaking move to modernize mineral targeting in India, IndiaAI, an Independent Business Division (IBD) under Digital India Corporation (DIC), Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY), in collaboratio with the Geological Survey of India (GSI), Ministry of Mines, has launched the IndiaAI Hackathon on Mineral Targeting.

To boost the electronic toy sector, for the first time in India “e-Toycathon 2025” was organized by CDAC under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s (MeitY’s) research initiatives. e Toycathon 2025 which successfully concluded at CDAC-Noida, aimed at fostering innovation in the toy sector by providing a platform for young researchers and innovators to develop indigenous, sustainable solutions.

A consultation meeting to invite suggestions and inputs from industry bodies and partner organisations for Entity Locker was held at Electronics Niketan on March 6, 2025. The meeting was chaired by Shri Nand Kumarum, President & CEO, NeGD; MD & CEO Digital India Corporation, and CEO, MyGov.Participants included senior officials from various chambers and national boards such as FICCI, CII, Indian Banks Association, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, The Institute of Cost Accountants of India, India SME Forum, PHDCCI, Federation of Indian Export Organisations, SEBI, NASSCOM, Data Security Council of India, and government enterprises viz. Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Rail India Technical and Economic Service, and Engineering Projects India Ltd. etc.

The HIMASHIELD 2024 Grand Challenge, organized by (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing) C-DAC Thiruvananthapuram under Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology research initiatives, successfully concluded on National Science Day in Thiruvananthapuram. Aimed at fostering innovation in Glacier Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) mitigation, the challenge provided a platform for young researchers and innovators to develop indigenous, sustainable solutions to tackle this critical environmental challenge.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has marked a significant step in India’s digital governance with the launch of the Digital Brand Identity Manual and the inaugural Chief Information Officer Conference 2025.

CDAC-Noida a research organization of MeitY signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Creative Play Lab, a  department of the LEGO Group under the project ‘Development of Electronics and IT-based Control and Automation Solutions for Consumer Electronic Goods (Toy Industry)’.

Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Amendment Rules, 2025 under the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 have been notified by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) today. This amendment has been done to help in improving transparency and inclusivity in the decision-making process.

Honourable Minister of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the availability of 18,000+ GPUs through the empanelment of AI cloud service providers and MeitY’s call for proposals for the development of indigenous foundational models and creation of an AI Safety Institute and AI applications funded under the IndiaAI Innovation Challenge. The announcements were made in the presence of Hon’ble Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Shri Jitin Prasada; Shri Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, MeitY, and CEO, IndiaAI; Shri Nand Kumarum, P&CEO, NeGD, MD & CEO, DIC & CEO, MyGov and Smt.
