Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology and Commerce & Industry, Shri Jitin Prasada, said that emerging technologies such as drone technology, Internet of Things (IoT) and cybersecurity are playing a significant role in creating new employment opportunities. He was addressing the “Technology and Skill Development Conference” held at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee NIELIT Extension Centre campus in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh on 21 December 2025. Shri Jitin Prasada attended the conference as the Chief Guest. The objective of the conference was to promote technology-based skill development, innovation, and entrepreneurship among youth.

India’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy is based on the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of democratizing technology. It aims to address India-centric challenges and create opportunities & jobs in AI.

In line with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision, the Government is democratising the development and usage of technology. The focus is using Artificial Intelligence (AI) for solving real-world problems and ultimately improving lives across various sectors.

The Government of India follows a lifecycle-based approach to support the startup ecosystem. The startups are supported across the entire journey – from idea and proof of concept to prototype development, product development and testing.

Aadhaar is the world’s largest biometric identity system with approximately 134 crores live Aadhaar holders. It has completed more than 16,000 crore authentication transactions.

The policies of the Government of India aim to ensure a safe, trusted, and accountable cyberspace. It remains vigilant and fully conscious of the cyber threat to India’s digital infrastructure.

Union Minister of State, Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Ministry of Electronics and IT, Shri Jitin Prasada represented India and delivered the national statement at the High-Level Meeting of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on the overall review of the implementation of the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS+20) in New York, USA on 16 December, 2025.

Shri Jitin Prasada, Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Electronics & Information Technology of India addressed an event titled “From Action to Impact”- A Curtain Raiser to the AI Impact Summit (19 – 20 February 2026, New Delhi), jointly organised by India and France in the United Nations Headquarters, New York on 16 December, 2025.

The Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in collaboration with the Uttarakhand State IT Mission, Government of Uttarakhand, announced the BHASHINI Rajyam Workshop: Uttarakhand Chapter on 17 December 2025 at Hotel Ramada, Dehradun. Ministry of Minority Affairs (MoMA) today conducted an insightful workshop on Bhasha Daan, a citizen-driven initiative under BHASHINI, India’s National Language Technology Mission, aimed at preserving India’s rich and diverse linguistic heritage through digital means.
