Honourable Minister of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the availability of 18,000+ GPUs through the empanelment of AI cloud service providers and MeitY’s call for proposals for the development of indigenous foundational models and creation of an AI Safety Institute and AI applications funded under the IndiaAI Innovation Challenge. The announcements were made in the presence of Hon’ble Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Shri Jitin Prasada; Shri Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, MeitY, and CEO, IndiaAI; Shri Nand Kumarum, P&CEO, NeGD, MD & CEO, DIC & CEO, MyGov and Smt. Kavita Bhatia, COO, IndiaAI.

Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) , Shri S Krishnan laid the foundation stone for the Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Test Facility at Navi Mumbai today. The laboratory to be established by the Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research (SAMEER), a research institution under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, is designed to cater to the growing demand.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology organised a consultation meeting with government officials and industry on the Draft Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Rules, 2025, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to India’s data protection framework ahead of the public feedback deadline of February 18, 2025. Shri Bhuvnesh Kumar assumed charge as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on Wednesday. He is an officer of the 1995 batch IAS from the Uttar Pradesh cadre.

The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) and the Indian Ports Association (IPA) have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi on December 24, 2024. The agreement was formalised by Shri Nand Kumarum, IAS, President and CEO of NeGD, and Shri Vikas Narwal, IAS, Managing Director of IPA, in the presence of Dr. Arvind Bhisikar, Executive Director (IT) of IPA, and Shri Rajnish Kumar, Chief Operating Officer of NeGD, along with their respective teams.

A Conference of State IT Secretaries, senior officials of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and States/UTs was held on December 17, 2024 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The meeting was organised under the chairmanship of Secretary, MeitY, Shri S. The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C), has commenced the second batch of the ‘Digital Governance & Data Management’ training programme from December 16 – 18, 2024.

Three D integrated Solutions Ltd. (Three DiS) and Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research (SAMEER), a premiere R&D organisation under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India entered into a strategic partnership to address the key challenges of the fast-growing Indian market in strategic and civilian airport navigation, communication systems and security related equipment with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

National e Governance Division (NeGD), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in collaboration with the Indian School of Business (ISB), Mohali, inaugurated a five day training program on “Digital Transformation for Senior Leaders”. The
program, scheduled from 2nd to 6th December 2024, is a significant step under the broader Digital India initiative to equip senior government officials with the skills and knowledge required to drive digital transformation and enhance governance efficiency across India.

Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh, addressed the media at a press conference on Digital Infrastructure and Connectivity in New Delhi today. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the world is now recognizing India’s digital revolution.

A Digital India State Consultation Workshop was organised by the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) for the Government of Tamil Nadu in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency (TNeGA)
in Chennai on November 28, 2024.
