UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) app is conceptualized by the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), MeitY, Government of India to improve ease of living by putting the power in the hands of citizens to avail major government services anytime, anywhere with just a few clicks on a single unified mobile application. UMANG is a step towards the goal of less government and more governance. The app has many features that make it a convenient and user-friendly platform for accessing government services.

For Citizens/Residents:

  1. Ease of access- Available on all major mobile platforms (android, ios) and also on the web ( UMANG has a rich multimedia interface with a focus on maximizing usability and enriching citizens’ experience. All important services are merged into one app.
  2. Government services at your fingertips– UMANG provides a unified platform where multiple government services (Central, State/UT & Municipal) can be accessed by the citizens. It’s a single mobile app to access more than 1984 government services from 207 government departments.
  3. Integration with Digilocker & Myscheme – UMANG provides seamless integration with popular customer-centric services like Digilocker and Myscheme.
  4. Supports 23 languages – UMANG services are accessible in Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Assamese, Odiya, Bengali, Urdu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi and 10 other regional languages.
  5. Dedicated customer support– UMANG has dedicated customer support for user convenience from 10 am to 6 pm all days of the week.

For Government Departments:

  • Quick rollout of services – No DPR/ RFP/ budget & no additional IT skills required
  • All technical work done by the UMANG team for onboarding
  • UMANG supports the federal structure with custom branding & landing page and no data storage
