Master of Business Administration in Digital Governance & Management (MBA-DGM) at IIM Visakhapatnam
The MBA programme in Digital Governance & Management is the-first-of-its-kind Master of Business Management programme in the country under Digital India, launched by IIMV (an Institution of National Importance), under the aegis of the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY), Government of India. The programme focuses on capacity building in government and industry to equip functionaries at strategic and operational levels with necessary knowledge and skills.
For a comprehensive coverage of the domain, this programme is carefully curate with a combination of theoretical and practical understanding through a combination of lectures, workshops, field visits, international immersion and a capstone project. While the field visits are planned to gain understanding of the nuances of e-Governance projects at the national level, a two-week international immersion at NUS (National University of Singapore) e-Governance Leadership Centre, Singapore (for the current batch) exposes students to best-standards, internationally, on digital governance and management. Finally through a capstone project, participants implement learnt concepts on real-life projects.
Target Participants:
The programme is considered to be suitable for the executive officers responsible to design and implement Digital Governance initiative in the Government. The prescribed programme fee for selected government officers is sponsored by NeGD, MeitY, under Capacity Building scheme. The minimum eligibility of government officers for the sponsorship is as given below:
- Central and State Government officers with minimum 5 years of experience in Group ‘A’ or ‘B’ services
- Upper age – 45 years
- Minimum 15 years of residual service
Curriculum
The programme is spread over four Semesters of five months each. The sessions are delivered in a unique blended-learning mode (80% online, 20% on-campus) with minimal dislocation of normal work schedules of participants. This is in tune with the importance and rising trend of such (online) programmes offered by educational institutions, nationally and internationally.
The programme provides an immersive and active learning experience to participants. The courses (Core and Elective) will have a judicious blend of learning modes, such as, class-room discussions, tutorials, workshops, group work, case study analyses, simulation games, industry interaction and outreach activities.
MBA degree in Digital Governance & Management is awarded to the qualifying participants in accordance with the ordinances of the Academic Council of IIM Visakhapatnam (under the IIM Act 2017).
