Inform, Educate, and Communicate

Awareness and Communication (A&C) is an integral component of the Digital India Programme. A&C performs the crucial role of generating and raising the level of awareness about Digital India, its schemes, initiatives and services amongst diverse stakeholders across the country. Key responsibilities of A&C include updating content and design pertaining to the following: – Website Banners, Press Releases, Vacancy, Notifications, Media etc.

The A&C division of NeGD ensures seamless execution of outreach initiatives through efficient procurement of materials/resources such as Printing services (Banners, Brochures, Badges), Software (Adobe, AI Tools, Video Editing), Hardware (Camera Gear, Headphones), Merchandise (Bags, bottles, notepads, pens, pen drives etc.), Event Management Agencies (Launch Events, Conferences, Workshops, Summits), Manpower and other services.

Objectives of Awareness and Communication:

  1. Inform, educate, and communicate to citizens about various initiatives under the “Digital India Programme”, and establishing the brand “Digital India” by way of effective branding exercise across various platforms- Events, Social Media, Mass Media, Rural Outreach etc.
  2. Help citizens understand the benefits of Digital India initiatives and services
  3. Facilitate demand creation for various services leading to more adoption of services
    • Increase in downloads of app-based services
    • Increase in reach on Social Media platforms

 

A&C Activities

  1. Events: NeGD under MeitY organizes various events to promote digital governance initiatives across India. These events aim to enhance public awareness and understanding of e-governance services, digital infrastructure, and technology-driven governance reforms. NeGD conducts workshops, seminars, webinars, and outreach programs targeting government officials, citizens, and various stakeholders to facilitate the adoption of digital solutions and ensure effective service delivery. The A&C Division at NeGD is in charge of managing various events of the Ministry of Electronics and IT encompassing various divisions. The work includes booking of venues, creative design and branding of event, setting up of branding at venue, social media marketing and promotions, stage management, food and beverage management, sending invites, managing confirmations and declines of speakers and participants, photography, videography, procurement of merchandise, writing press releases, coordination with anchors etc.
  2. State Consultation Workshops: Digital governance with user-centric and high-quality digital services is the key to realise a Viksit Bharat. A meaningful and continuous dialogue between the Government of India and States/Union Territories is imperative for a two-way flow of ideas and optimal utilisation of available digital infrastructure viz. platforms, & APIs. NeGD on behalf of MeitY conducts consultation workshops with State/UT Governments to connect varied stakeholders with the overall framework of the Digital India Programme. Meaningful collaborations helps the Government’s Digital India strategy, embeds the growth narrative, reinforces the Government of India’s approach and increases the range and quality of business partnerships in the promotion of products and services for the greater benefit of citizens.
  3. University Workshops: With the aim to heighten awareness among the youth about Digital India Programme and its various initiatives, NeGD is conducting Digital India Awareness Workshops titled ‘Digital India Talk Show’ in various Central and State Universities across the country. The Digital India Awareness University Workshops aim at imparting knowledge to students and faculty members alike about key initiatives such as DigiLocker, Entity Locker, UMANG, UX4G, ABC-NAD, Cyber Security etc.
  4. Live Webinars: A&C also organizes webinars on a regular basis with the aim to spread awareness about Digital India initiatives relevant for stakeholders. Webinars are organised highlighting the transformative power of technology in governance through major initiatives undertaken by MeitY such as DigiLocker, Entity Locker, OpenForge, API Setu, UX4G, DPDP Act 2023 etc. The A&C team manages live webinars on various Digital India projects, handling emcee coordination, studio bookings, script briefing and training, social media coverage, live streaming, branding of the webinar (content and design), publishing on websites etc.
  5.  Social Media: The purpose of Digital India’s social media promotions is to create awareness about transformative digital initiatives and empower citizens by showcasing how technology enhances governance, inclusivity, and ease of living. Our platforms serve as a bridge to inform, educate, and engage with diverse audiences nationwide.

6. Digital India Website: The Digital India website (new version) was launched on October 11, 2024;  it serves as a dynamic platform regularly updated with comprehensive information on initiatives conducted under the Digital India Programme by various divisions within MeitY. Key responsibilities of A&C include content management and designing for the following:- Website Banners, Press Releases, DigiPehal (Activities conducted & initiatives undertaken), Media Gallery, Event Calendar etc.

7. NeGD Website: The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) website is a comprehensive hub for updates and information on e-governance initiatives, events, and resources of NeGD. Regular updates ensure seamless communication and engagement with stakeholders. This enables stakeholders to stay informed and connected with NeGD’s initiatives and activities. Key responsibilities of A&C include updating content and design pertaining to the following: – Website Banners, Press Releases, Vacancy, Notifications, Media etc.

8. Ask Our Experts: The A&C team launched the inaugural episode of its exclusive Live series, ‘Ask Our Experts’, on October 18, 2024. ‘Ask Our Experts’ is a unique weekly live program streamed on Digital India’s YouTube channel, designed to foster engagement with citizens by informing, educating and communicating them about citizen centric initiatives and services under Digital India Programme. The A&C team is responsible for emcee coordination, script writing, designing creatives, branding of show, practice sessions, live streaming and managing social media promotions.

9. Design Work: A&C specializes in designing creatives for various events and activities. The designs ensure impactful communication and visual appeal across platforms books, brochures, social media, branding for events, banners, standee, e-mailers, backdrops etc. 

10. Video Editing: is a key component of A&C for creating buzz about Digital India initiatives and services through various type of media- social media reels, launch videos of initiatives and events, interviews, podcast, webinars etc.
